On Sunday, March 3, 2013 at approximately midnight, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a crash in the area of 650 Gatesville Road. Sgt. Michael Moore responded and investigated the crash with the assistance of Deputies Fouch and Pittman.
While investigating the crash it was found that the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash, Benjamin Shadwick of Nashville, was intoxicated. Mr. Shadwick was arrested for OWI .18% and turned over to the Brown County Jail. Bond was set at $1500.
Man arrested for battery, resisting arrest and other charges
On Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:00 a.m. Deputy Greg Pittman arrested Anthony L. Callon for Battery, Resisting Law Enforcement, Battery on a Police Officer, Criminal Confinement, Criminal Mischief and Interference with reporting a crime.
Deputy Pittman and Sgt. Moore were dispatched on a 911 call for a male subject out of control at a residence on Hornettown Rd. The officers arrived on the scene and found Anthony Callon, 32 of Morgantown, yelling and screaming in the house and appearing to be under the influence of drugs. He had damaged fixtures, walls and doors in the house. Mr. Callon had barricaded himself in a bedroom and would not comply when ordered by the officers to stop damaging the house, which is owned by his relative.
When Sgt. Moore attempted to place handcuffs on Callon he resisted. He hit Deputy Pittman with a small end table and was tased by Deputy Pittman and then handcuffed. Sgt. Moore sustained several lacerations on his hands from the incident. Deputy Pittman sustained a contusion and possible fracture on his right forearm.
Callon was transported to the Brown County Jail after being treated by EMS on the scene.
