Lois Ann Teeters, Feb. 24, 2010

Lois Ann (Utterback) Teeters died Wednesday evening, February 24, 2010, at the Franklin United Methodist Community. A lifelong resident of Trafalgar, she was 84.

Mrs. Teeters was born December 13, 1925, in Johnson County to the late Cecil and Edna (Works) Utterback. She married Edward “Murl” Teeters on November 16, 1945 in Trafalgar. He survives.

She was a 1944 graduate of Trafalgar High School and was a 50-year member of Trafalgar Christian Church. In 1985 she retired as an administrative assistant for Dow Chemical Company in Indianapolis, after 26 years of service.

Mrs. Teeters enjoyed working in her garden, traveling, fishing and camping at Lake Sullivan. She also loved crafting baby quilts and spending time with her grandchildren.

Other survivors include her children, Evelyn M. Leohr and her husband Thomas of Goldsboro, North Carolina, and Russell W. Teeters and his wife Ann of Trafalgar; grandchildren Eric and Adam Teeters, Cathy Goddard and Cindy Cheney; great-grandchildren Sara, Alyson and Nichole Goddard, Joshua and Thomas Oliver, Michael and Matthew Cheney; and one great-great grandchild, Jayson Oliver.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katherine Teeters, and a brother, Lowell Utterback.

A funeral service will be conducted by the Reverends Michelle White and Jack Eichacker at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Trafalgar Christian Church, 300 East Pearl Street in Trafalgar. Visitation will be Sunday, February 28, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation and Personalization Center, 179 East Mulberry Street in Morgantown.
