Mary Lou (Uppenkamp) Gardner, 70, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 11, 2010, at her residence in Trafalgar. She was a former resident of West Liberty, Ohio.
She was born May 3, 1940, in Botkins, Ohio, to the late Aloys and Cora C. (Schumacher) Uppenkamp.
She received an associate’s degree in Information Systems from Ohio State College. She retired in 2006 after 10 years of service with Honda of America in West Liberty, Ohio, and had previously worked for Harpers Printing in Columbus, Ohio, for several years.
She is survived by her children, Lois Ann Snider of New Carlisle, Ohio, George A. Koch of Apopka, Florida, and Harry Lee Koch of Little Rock, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Constance M. Gardner; two brothers, Richard and Thomas Uppenkamp; and a great-granddaughter, Maria Y. Giron.
She was a longtime member of the Marysville Eagles Lodge and the Marysville Moose Lodge, where she was a past madam president.
She enjoyed making crafts, traveling, reading and spending time with her family. Her true passion was raising Dachshunds.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted by her family at her home at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Her home is at 6458 South 25 West in Trafalgar.
