Matthew R. Smith, July 21, 2010—UPDATED

Matthew R. Smith, of Morgantown, died Wednesday evening, July 21, 2010, in Morgan County. He was 24.

Mr. Smith was born September 6, 1985, in Morgantown to Anthony A. “Tony” and Melanie A. (Allen) Smith. Both survive in Morgantown.

He was the co-owner and operator of Two Guys and A Chainsaw Service in Morgantown. Prior to that, he worked for Williams Tree Service in Martinsville for two years.

Mr. Smith enjoyed fishing, tree climbing, bicycle riding, being outdoors and spending time with his family. He was a fan of NHRA drag racing and the Indianapolis Colts.

Other survivors include three sisters, Randi R. Owens (Ronald) of Martinsville; Kaitlin R. Smith and Kayla J. Smith, both of Morgantown; two brothers, William C. Smith (Ashely) of Morgantown and Christopher d. Smith (Heather) of Gatesville; and seven nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2010, at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation and Personalization Center in Morgantown, with the Reverend Stan White officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday, also at the funeral home.

Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
