Danny R. Ayers, 59, of Nashville, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010, in Columbus.

He was born May 25, 1951, in Columbus to Glenn B. Ayers and Susie (Wilkerson) Ayers.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1972. He was a carpenter and an all-around outdoorsman, loving to be out in the woods hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Tracey (Owens) Ayers of Nashville; sons Nathan Ayers of Boulder, CO, and Cody Ayers of Nashville; a daughter, Lindsey Ayers of Nashville; two grandsons, Rex “Littleman” Carmichael and Jvasin Hammack; three sisters, Karen Zody of Nashville, Carol Caudill of Brownstown and Diane Turner of Columbus; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Ayers of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roger Ayers, and a grandson, Gauge Carmichael.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 30, at 10 a.m. at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Brown County. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, July 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North, Nashville, IN 47448, in memory of Danny R. Ayers.
